Get ready for yet more unhinged screeching from the media party: the Bad Orange Man is trying to stop bad wogs from entering America again. How dare he!
President Trump has signed a sweeping travel ban on 12 countries and introduced more-limited travel restrictions on seven others, the White House announced, reintroducing a controversial immigration policy that came to define the early days of his first term.
The ban, which Trump signed on Wednesday evening, will completely bar travel to the US by citizens of the following countries: Afghanistan, Myanmar (formerly Myanmar), Chad, The Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
Citizens from an additional list of countries will be barred from permanently immigrating to the US, along with applying for tourist or student visas. Those countries are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Citizens from these seven countries will still be eligible for other temporary visas, such as the H-1B or other temporary work visas.
Big surprise: the media are already lying through their teeth about it. They’re claiming that Trump is issuing the ban in response to the most recent anti-Semitic attack from ‘pro-Palestinian’ fanatics. This is false, of course. The renewed and expanded travel ban was part of Trump’s re-election platform. Trump used the firebombing attack by an Egyptian illegal immigrant as an illustrative example of why such bans are necessary.
“The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado has underscored the extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of foreign nationals who are not properly vetted,” Mr Trump said in a video message.
Counting down to the media falsely calling it a ‘Muslim ban’ in 3… 2…
Funny how they never said the same when Jimmy Carter put a travel ban on Iran.
The ban only applies to people currently outside the US, though anyone currently in the US who leaves could get stuck abroad as a result of it. It also excludes any nationals of these countries who hold green cards, along with anyone traveling to the US for coming major sporting events, including the World Cup in 2026 and the Olympics in 2028. Afghans who receive special immigrant visas, a special visa reserved for Afghans who worked alongside the US military during its two-decade presence in Afghanistan, are also exempt.
The ban is justified for a number of reasons. Firstly, the countries named have unusually high visa overstay rates. Others are also notorious for issuing dodgy passports that can be abused by bad actors.
Haiti, the only country in the Western Hemisphere to face a complete ban, was included because “hundreds of thousands of illegal Haitian aliens flooded into the US during the Biden administration,” the White House said.
Who wants to bet on how long it will take some jumped-up, Soros-funded judge, in some boondock Democrat stronghold, to try and hold the country to ransom? The White House is already ahead of them.
After several years of litigation, the Supreme Court in 2018 upheld the legality of Trump’s travel ban, so long as the administration could articulate a rationale for why countries are included. That will make it tougher for immigration advocates to challenge this new ban.
Once again proving that the wedge between satire and reality in this clown world is razor thin, the Babylon Bee has already published a satirical article about a federal judge blocking the deportation of the Colorado terrorist’s family and ordering the Jewish victims to be set on fire again.
Don’t tempt them, Bee. Don’t tempt them.
