Trump Wins!

Will Trump make the best use of winning the opportunity of the century to fix the government books? Only the next four years will tell.

American voters have created political history by electing the oldest straight white male president of the United States. When Trump is sworn in on 6 January 2025, at 78 years and 206 days old, he will be older than even Joe Biden was. That may not have the same ring as the first female president but Americans have shown they don’t care about electing identity groups.

It was a tense afternoon watching my deadline for this article approach while hoping there would be a clear cut result in time, but the end result was never in doubt. As of writing, the live results map shows that Trump will hold 325 electoral college votes compared to 213 votes for Kamala Harris, which dwarfs Biden’s 306 to 232 win in 2020. Unlike 2016, Trump is likely to win the popular vote as well as the electoral college by a margin of approximately five million.
