EV’s – now need their own specially designed fire appliances – which are of course 6 wheeled 3.0 ltr diesel Toyota Hiluxs because you just never know when and where your EV will catch fire.
Electric vehicle fires aren’t exactly new but they still make the news due to how hard they can rage. They can often burn for hours, if not days, requiring huge amounts of water to keep the batteries cool enough to stop reigniting.
While this is (slightly) less of an issue if an EV combusts on the road, it’s a nightmare if the car explodes in enclosed areas while parked or charging, particularly in garages, parking buildings or apartments. That’s where the Toyota Hilux 6×6 ‘Hiload’ fire and rescue vehicle comes in.
