The Government has asked for public feedback on its so-called ‘hate speech’ laws. So that’s exactly what we’re encouraging New Zealanders to give them. Thanks to the contributions of our financial supporters and volunteers, we’ve just launched FreeSpeechSubmission.com.

Have your say by making a submission to the Ministry of Justice on the proposed hate speech laws.

If you have five minutes, file a submission with the Ministry of Justice to say ‘No’ to the anti-speech laws. As you’ll see, we’ve made it easy with an online tool for you to select what you want to include in your submission.

Select any or all of our preprepared paragraphs, or draft your own response.

The key thing is we don’t sit in silence while free speech is eroded.

If the Minister of Justice and Prime Minister couldn’t even tell us how far these changes would go, how are you and I able to tell?

It is irresponsible of the Government to even start this process without a better understanding of what it will achieve.

Make sure your voice is heard, so we don’t end up with bad law that hurts kiwis.

Thanks again for your support.

PS. If you’d like to go further than our suggested paragraphs or edit them to your style, you can do that with the tool. The full submission filed on behalf of the Free Speech Union is available at www.fsu.nz/submission

Please share so others can discover The BFD.
