Who did it better?
Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.
Here are some cover versions of one song, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.
“Baby, Please Don’t Go” is a traditional blues/folk song that was first recorded in 1935 by Big Joe Williams.
It has since become a blues/rock standard and been recorded by many acts:
Lightin’ Hopkins recorded his version in 1947.
Muddy Waters released a version in 1953.
Van Morrison and Them released their interpretation in 1964.
The Amboy Dukes released their take in 1967.
AC/DC included a cover on their 1975 debut album “High Voltage” (released in Australia only and re-released internationally on the 1984 EP “ 74 Jailbreak”).
