Who did it better?

Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song along with the original, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“Fooled Around and Fell in Love” is a song written by Elvin Bishop and first released on his 1975 album “Struttin’ My Stuff”.

It has been covered by several acts including:

The Julian Laxton Band as a 1977 single.

Rod Stewart on his 2006 album “Still The Same – Great Rock Classics Of Our Time”.

Juice Newton and Gary Morris on the 2010 album “Duets – Friends and Memories”.

Bryan Ferry on his 2022 album “Love Letters”.

Thinking About Race and IQ

We seem destined to continue the equality thesis, the persistent gaps in IQ and other test scores behoove us to acknowledge that our efforts have not worked. In some sense, DEI efforts are an admission of that failure, as they seek to reapportion society’s spoils based on race rather than merit.
