Yet Another Taxpayer-Funded Dis-Grace from the ABC

ABC hands Antisemite Grace Tame her own pulpit – on our dime.

The ABC really is shameless. But then, it’s pretty easy to be completely and utterly shameless when you face no consequences whatsoever for your actions. In the real world, any media organisation that treats not just its audience but its paymasters with complete and utter contempt would be deservedly broke in short order. But this is the ABC, where the cloistered class of Ultimo are guaranteed their billion dollars and more of other people’s money, no matter what enormities they commit.

Whether those enormities are providing uncritical platforms for child molesters or uncritical platforms for antisemites.

Jewish leaders are outraged over the ABC’s decision to hand Grace Tame her own podcast after she controversially declared the Hamas attack as “propaganda”, and appeared at a pro-Palestine rally chanting “globalise the intifada” earlier this year.

Because of course it does. Nothing says ‘serious public broadcasting’ like giving a taxpayer-funded megaphone to a woman who dismissed corroborated reports of Hamas’ pack rapes and sexual torture of Israeli women as “propaganda” and who stood before a Sydney crowd and led the chant to “globalise the intifada”, an open incitement to violence against Jews, while branding the Israeli president a “war criminal”.

“Globalise the intifada” isn’t edgy activism: it’s a call to import the same genocidal butchery that turned a family gathering into a bloodbath. Tame didn’t whisper it in private. She screamed it from the stage, on camera, months after October 7.

Yet the ABC, ever eager to signal its virtue to the right people, has decided Grace Tame is exactly the voice Australia needs more of.

All this at the very time a royal commission is examining the causes of the breakdown in social cohesion which led directly to the murder of 15 Jewish Australians. The ABC should be Exhibit A.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin nailed it:

“It seems the ABC has determined that Grace Tame is fit for employment at public expense after screaming chants widely interpreted as calling for global attacks on Jews and a radio interview in which she doubled down on her comments questioning the widespread pack rape and sexual torture committed by Hamas, which the terrorists themselves never denied,” he said.

“Everyone deserves a second chance but Tame has shown no remorse or regret whatsoever.”

Australian Jewish Association CEO Robert Gregory similarly was gobsmacked: “I simply could not believe that Australia’s public broadcaster could be so tone deaf… This decision demonstrates a profound lack of judgment and a disregard for the concerns of many Australians, particularly within the Jewish community”.

It’s not just Jewish Australians who should be justly outraged by this disgraceful decision. All decent Australians should, but those genuinely suffering from autism should be, too.

Tame is not just a poster girl for the latest feminine social media clout-chasing trend – self-diagnosing as ‘autistic’. This grotesque appropriation insults every parent and individual genuinely crippled by actual severe autism. Autism is not a ‘quirky’ personality trait for Instagram likes or victim Olympics points. But in the modern left’s attention economy, it’s just another identity to monetise. It’s as grotesque as twisting your ankle and immediately applying for a blue sticker for the good parking spots.

Every time the national broadcaster perpetrates outrages like this, it provides yet another iron-clad reason why the ABC should be stripped of its government funding entirely. Australians should not be forced at gunpoint via their taxes to subsidise propaganda, degeneracy and the active incitement of hatred against Jewish citizens in the aftermath of domestic terror.

The cloistered elites of Ultimo can crowdfund their own hate platform. The rest of us have had enough.

Defund the ABC. Now.
