1. The Police must explain why they won’t enforce the Electoral Act

  • 🚔 Despite multiple breaches of the Electoral Act by politicians, including National MP David MacLeod's undeclared $178,000 in donations, there have been no successful prosecutions.
  • 📅 The Police recently decided not to prosecute MacLeod, citing completion of their enquiries without further action, causing a decline in public confidence in the electoral system.
  • 🗣️ MacLeod admitted to his mistake of not disclosing donations from 2021 and 2022, believing he only needed to declare those from the election year.
  • 🏛️ Critics argue that the Police decision not to prosecute undermines the integrity of electoral laws, calling for reform to ensure proper enforcement and accountability.
