A Response to Judith Collins’s Piece on Climate Change

Arthur

A politician interested in people’s views? OK, Ms Collins and I’ll keep it as short as possible, which is difficult on such a huge subject.

1.  Anthropogenic climate change is a con, vastly exaggerated, and greenhouse theory around CO2 is basically flawed. Yes, pollution of the air is bad, but that is a separate issue that has been deliberately conflated with CO2, which is a beneficial gas without which life cannot exist. It feeds plants; plants feed everything else and are the sole source of oxygen, which comes from that CO2. Actually, water vapor is the predominant greenhouse gas.

2. Climate change is a political issue, not an environmental one. UN Agenda 2030 baldly states it is a vehicle for wealth distribution via taxes from the First World to the Third World. The world’s politicians are fed so-called ‘briefing papers’ by the IPCC that are slanted summaries of the data well hidden in the actual huge reports to influence political direction.

3. Neo Marxists, various anti-social extremist groups on the Left and other Communist groups have hijacked climate change to further their aims of limiting and/or bringing down capitalism. Extinction Rebellion’s founders have openly stated that as their aim.

4. The UN via the IPCC has bent and manipulated data, reinvented climate history and cherry-picked data to bend the narrative towards a global warming trend. They perpetuate a myth around a fantasy stable climate that supposedly has existed for millions of years, totally ignoring the fact that 8000 years of the Holocene era were warmer than today, covering a period approximately 9000 BC to 1000 AD. Al Gore’s comment in his fiction movie that it has not been this hot for 695,000 years is pure eyewash (to be polite). The only unfortunate truth is that Al’s imagination is presented as fact.

5.  All predictions are based on flawed computer models that give wider and wider variances as time goes on. As a predictor they are useless, predictions made in the early 1990s about 2000, 2010, 2016 and now have all proved to be wrong, and recent predictions have also proved to be so. The history of climate predictions going back to the 1880s and all those made since have had one common theme: they have been 100% wrong 100% of the time. It is reprehensible that predictions are presented as future fact when they are wild speculation at best and have no more basis than the witterings of fairground Gypsies staring at crystal balls.

6. The media are mindless and completely captured by the left-wing on this and other issues. They repeat the utterances of vainglorious scientists and a biased IPCC and push the political left leanings of their owners. NZ Stuff as an example has descended from a news site ten years ago to a left-wing opinion piece site with some actual news as filler. The Fourth Estate is supposed to be impartial, and yet now they feel obligated to make the news and have granted themselves the role of forming public opinion on everything including so-called climate change.

7. A  carbon zero future is an impossible fantasy. It has been calculated that for the USA to meet the targets being talked about there, much more lenient than that of the Comrade Coalition, every American would have to return to a lifestyle of the late 19th Century. We sane New Zealanders do not want to live like the Amish.

To sum up, we need a sensible environmental policy to limit pollution and yet keep our industries and export earners operating at peak efficiency. We need to do away with attacks on farmers, our mining and oil industries. We need policy that benefits New Zealanders and New Zealand’s environment and is not controlled by hysterical lunatics, extremists and shills of greater entities like the UN.

We need a country run by its citizens’ elected representatives for the citizens and not for globalists with ambitions of empire. We need a practical path to the future with balance and fairness. We do not need ideological nonsense foisted on us by lefty green zealots, impractical idealistic dolts and hand-wringers.

One more thing Ms Collins. The way National is going with its present wet leader and his seemingly Labour-lite views and silly comments around China, there had better be a shakeup, otherwise you risk another term in the wilderness and New Zealand being condemned to being in the third world in short order. If you have read this far, I thank you for your time. You asked for it; you got it.
