One of these women is the darling of the world media and has delivered a “masterclass” in the fight against COVID-19, Jacinda Ardern.

The other you have probably never heard of, Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen.

It appears that Tsai Ing-wen has smashed the COVID-19 virus by every measurement one wishes to apply.

Taiwan was the place most likely to see a rapid spread of the virus, due to its proximity to China where hundreds of thousands of Taiwanese work, and considering the extensive travel across the Taiwan Strait.

New Zealand, on the other hand, had no such excuse, due to its isolated geographical location. So why was Ardern held up as a hero while Tsai Ing-wen was virtually ignored by the world media?

Could it be that Tsai Ing-wen has vigorously opposed socialism/communism by continuing to refuse to return sovereignty to Communist China? Could it be because Taiwan is not a member of the UN and because of that, was not obliged to follow instructions from WHO? Or could it be Tsai Ing-wen’s admiration for Donald Trump’s aggressive stance towards mainland China and increasing support from the US, through economic investment and military cooperation?

Or on the other hand, could it be because of Ardern’s staunch socialist ideology? Could it be her devoted support and admiration of the UN? Is it her unwavering contempt for President Trump and the US?

COVID-19 has nothing to do with it, does it? It’s your politics that matter. When the socialist, anti-Trump and UN-devoted media chose their heroes, poor Tsai Ing-wen never had a chance. Ardern isn’t fit to lick the boots of Tsai Ing-wen yet Ardern basks in the fictitious world of fake admiration.

Some men have learned. They have done the work of unlearning the old rules: man up, harden up, don’t be soft. But some men are still learning. Not because they don’t feel deeply, but because they were taught to lock it down, praised for being tough and rewarded for being silent.

The law makes it clear: parliament could abolish the Māori seats tomorrow with a simple majority – no referendum needed, no special entrenchment – yet a politically convenient referendum is being offered instead.
