It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but a giant US cartoon media company wants Jacinda Ardern to either admit to copying and give credit where credit is due or cease and desist.

After a black-helicopter dawn-raid overseen by the FBI at Premier House, the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was handed a cease and desist order over her blatant copying.

In a nationally televised press statement, a spokesperson for SpongeBob SquarePants said, “we can no longer sit back and let Miss Ardern take credit for intellectual property that is not hers.”

“While she, like SpongeBob, has a childlike enthusiasm for life, the constant hugging and ‘be kind’ are straight out of the SpongeBob playbook.”

“Her speech patterns, philosophy, logic and apparent deep understanding of life are far too similar to our copyrighted scripts to be anything but a deliberate imitation.”

“Take some of these loved SquarePants quotes for example:

“A five letter word for happiness – money.

“Go away cant you see Im trying to forget you!

“You dont need a licence to drive a sandwich.

“Remember licking doorknobs on other planets is illegal.

“I used your clarinet to unblock my toilet.

“Vice Assistant General Manager of Certain Things.

“All I know is fine dining and breathing.

“While Miss Ardern has been careful not to copy these quotes word for word, anyone who has heard her speeches or interviews knows she has been channelling this wisdom since she became Prime Minister.”

“It is the reason she is so popular with, and enjoys, the company of children. Quite frankly it would be one of the world’s great travesties if Miss Ardern were to win the Nobel Peace Prize by ripping off SpongeBob SquarePants.”

The Prime Minister’s department has declined to issue a statement at this time. However, extreme far-left sites including Stuff and The Standard were claiming it was “the dead hand of Trump”, “alt-right bullying and misogyny.”

Twitter was also awash with jacindaphile comments.

“Jacinda was first, she was copied. The Nobel Peace Prize will be hers. She is a role model for all girls – In charge, the boss, kind, has billions to spend, has a facebook page with over a million likes and on the cover of women’s magazines internationally – the centre of attention, a stud boyfriend and of course – a baby. What else could a young girl wish for.”
