Thomas Sowell once wrote racism “is on life support — kept alive” by race-baiters. Sowell was an optimist: the race-hustling left haven’t just given racism a shot in the arm, they’re pumping it full of adrenalin and shooting a thousand volts of idiocy across its chest.
Everything, everything, is “racist” nowadays. You don’t believe me? How about Darth Vader (no, this is not the Godfrey Elfwick satire, but a serious claim by an MSNBC anchor)? Chopsticks? (Your fault, New Zealand.) Even how you carry your baby is racist.
But, how about… trees?
Vice President Kamala Harris asked NASA if it could use its satellites to track trees “by race” in various neighborhoods as part of “environmental justice” during a recent display on climate change, leading many to ridicule the vice president online and even giving rise to a “Black Trees Matter” hashtag.
Harris is not just any old veep, she’s also chair of the National Space Council. This is why she is prone to such scientamific pronouncements as, “I truly believe space activity is climate action.”
She was just getting warmed up, though.
In a clip originally shared by Deputy Director of Rapid Response at Republican National Committee (RNC) Jake Schneider, Harris is seen interrupting a presentation in order to share her “woke” inquiry.
“Can you measure trees — part of that data that you are referring to, [and it’s an issue of] EJ, environmental justice — that you can also track by race their averages in terms of the number of trees in the neighborhoods where people live?”
In case you were thinking that this is just some random nonsense from Harris, rest less than assured that this is, in fact, yet another excrescence of Critical Race Theory reaching its slimy tentacles all the way to the White House.
“For the confused, the CRT argument here is that urban centers have less trees and are warmer than less urban areas, which the left translates into privilege,” wrote conservative writer and commentator Chad Greene.
“White people have the ‘privilege’ of more trees, cooler temps and cleaner air,” he added. “Wala [sic]. Environmental Justice.”
Of course, Harris is not just spouting CRT’s hateful gibberish — she and her Democrat accomplices are putting the taxpayer’s money where their idiot mouths are.
The incident comes as Democrats’ $1.75 trillion entitlement spending bill includes billions for left-wing environmental activists’ pet projects, including planting more trees in low-income neighborhoods to create “tree equity.”
The tree equity provision is just one of a plethora of climate-related spending provisions in the bill.

This is far from the first time that trees have been “racist”.
When Robert Fuller hung himself from a tree in California, last year, it wasn’t just a tragic outcome of mental illness, oh, no: it was a lynching. And the truly mentally-deranged BLM thugs knew who was to blame: the tree!
“Eventually the mob decided that the only way to extract that justice was to kill the tree. Now, the idea of executing a tree for a hate crime might seem funny to you, but it must be remembered that the average tree is the intellectual superior of the average BLM thug.”
Also last year, a school committee vetoed adopting an evergreen tree as its mascot because “some fear such a mascot would be reminiscent of lynching”.
There’s only one way to solve arboreal racism, folks: chop down the trees. Every single one of them.
Let’s not hear your “environmentalist” objections, either — environmentalism is racist, too.
