Many of our writers are taking a well-earned break, so I’m taking the opportunity to thank our regular contributors. There are too many to list and I’d be horrified if I missed a name, so I won’t try. You writers keep us going.
I thank the dedicated team in behind the scenes – you guys are simply awesome. This is such a supportive and understanding workspace (especially when I stuff up). I’m very lucky to have great proofreaders to back me and spot the bits I miss (and for the one time they said, ‘Whoa, nope, we’re not publishing that!’)
And Cam... we got through. Thank you.
I also thank, in no particular order, Chris Lynch, Simon Anderson, DTNZ, the Centrist, Liberty Itch, Daily Sceptic and the many others that allow us to republish their articles. We have some great connections here.
I expect there may be a few readers who aren’t feeling it today so I’m reaching out to you. Christmas can be a difficult time for some people: those alone, those estranged and those who have lost family members. I see you. Please feel free to comment below. I have four friends who have lost partners this year and Christmas will be hard for them. One is taking the break from her busy business to clear out her late husband’s wardrobe. While acknowledging that Christmas is a heartwarming family affair for many, for others it is not, and that is OK, too.
There were some unexpected upsets for our site this year, so I thank all our readers for sticking with us while we muddled through and found our feet again. Despite being a rollercoaster year for us, we are still here and, I think, better than ever. I’ll be loitering in the background throughout the break, as will the moderators. I’m very proud to be part of this team and we wouldn’t be who we are without our subscribers and commenters. It’s you who make this work.
So, wherever you are today, with family or not, working or relaxing, I wish you all a warm, peaceful day.
