Does Luxon Give a Damn About Kiwi Businesses?

It should be Kiwis First, not Kiwis last!

Brian Tamaki

Today, the government kicks off its ‘Ethnic Xchange Symposium’ in Auckland, aimed at ‘supercharging’ the ethnic economy through trade, investment, and innovation. But where’s the symposium for Kiwi businesses, especially those run by Māori and Europeans?

Oh no! Luxon and his crew are fixated solely on Indo-Asians. When he’s not overseas schmoozing, he’s busy attending every Indo-Asian event in NZ.

Kiwis feel forgotten! Just yesterday, Luxon claimed NZ’s prosperity hinges on a strong Indo-Pacific. Is he betting our future on Indo-Asia while neglecting homegrown businesses?

Here are the hard facts about ethnic communities in NZ:

  • They’ve contributed an estimated $64 billion since 2021.
  • They are the fastest-growing population, tripling since 1996.
  • One in three Aucklanders is of Indo-Asian descent.
  • Our migrant employment rate is the highest in the OECD – meaning they’re taking Kiwi jobs.
  • A staggering 41% of ethnic community members hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to just 25% of Kiwis. They’re outsmarting us and snatching the best jobs!

During today’s symposium, MP Melissa Lee states the government wants to “unlock the full potential of ethnic businesses for the benefit of NZ,” aiming to double exports in a decade.

But where’s that same passion for Kiwi businesses? Many are hanging by a thread amid record business closures. Times are tough for Kiwi entrepreneurs!

At this symposium, they’ll discuss challenges like regulation, access to finance, and cultural differences. With their tendency to appease ethnic communities, will they do the unthinkable and consider opening the door to practices like Sharia law and Sharia finance, given that many in the Muslim community demand it?

In New Zealand today, we see:

  • Indians employing Indians and trading among themselves.
  • Chinese employing Chinese and doing the same.

As these communities continue to buy up Kiwi businesses, our local workforce is left in the cold, watching parallel economies form right under our noses.

Where are the government incentives to prioritise and support Kiwi businesses and foster more Kiwi Number Eight wire innovation?

Luxon’s economic plan is fundamentally flawed. Increasing multiculturalism won’t magically solve our debt problems. Just look at the UK; their national debt has skyrocketed since embracing multiculturalism.

And the government’s own figures released yesterday show the ugly truth: NZ’s debt has surged by 13% to $175.5 billion. Back in 1991, Crown debt was just about $33.4 billion before National opened the floodgates to mass immigrants from Indo-Asia.

Luxon’s obsession with money and multiculturalism will drive us into recession and obliterate the Kiwi way of life beyond recovery.

It is not worth it!

We must act now to protect and preserve the Kiwi Way of Life!
