Today’s face of the day is Nelson volunteer firefighter Steve Webster.
They have spent eight years fighting fires on numerous fronts but a Nelson family’s immigration worries have finally been extinguished.
Steve and Gail Webster can now call themselves Kiwis after being notified on Wednesday by Nelson MP Nick Smith they had finally been granted New Zealand residency.
Smith, who had advocated for the family throughout their process, was told of the decision by Associate Minister of Immigration Poto Williams.
Smith said he was delighted the decision had gone in their favour.
