OPINION

How would a government determined to exterminate its indigenous population behave? Ask the Namibians. Or, more specifically, ask the descendants of the Herero people.

Namibia, formerly the colony of German South-West Africa, became a mandated territory of the Union of South Africa (a British dominion) following the First World War, before winning its independence (with Cuban military assistance) from the apartheid-driven Republic of South Africa in 1990.
