Good morning. Here are 3 of the 10 stories in today's Ten@10.
5. RODNEY HIDE - Election outcome: the real losers won't be on the ballot
Hide calls a centre-right government, a National overhang, ACT and NZ First on top, and Opportunity out. The real losers, he says, are the New Zealand media, who spent the year selling a close race and an Opportunity kingmaker.
4. The case for saving Chris Bishop
National's overhang puts list MPs like Bishop at risk unless they win electorates. Ani O'Brien makes the case for saving him in Hutt South: Andersen returns on the list either way, and NZ First's Alistair Boyce is already telling voters to split for Bishop.
10. Where’s the party?
Markets expect the Reserve Bank to hike the OCR to 3% on Wednesday. Jenny Ruth says that would be a third mistake this year: CPI is 3.7%, core ex-transport is inside the band, unemployment is 5.6%, and house prices are still falling. "Where's the party?"
