Dramatic recovery of KiwiRail locomotive that fell into Picton Harbour
The NZ Herald in the above article reported that Hon Dr Nick Smith was “a local politician” but we are pretty sure that he was there in his capacity with Smith Cranes for whom he now works.
Picton is in the KAIKOURA Electorate and Stuart Smith is the local MP.
Nick has recently retired as a List MP based in Nelson. He held the NELSON Electorate for over 2 decades before the loss to a Labour Candidate in the 2020 election.
