Over the weekend, I was reading about declining birthrates and immediately thought of the 1984 sci-fi movie The Terminator.
Most analyses of that film have focused on the dangers of technology or the Cold War fear of nuclear war. Those were good breakdowns, but they missed the point. I think the movie was a straightforward female hero story. Not the feminist “girl-boss” hero, but a true archetype.
To truly appreciate that Allan’s loss is Victoria’s gain, let’s remember that she used her resignation speech to claim she got turfed from office because she is a woman.
