Previously, the average knuckle-dragging reader of the ‘Treaty’ document thought it was clearly showing in plain English:

1) A transfer of sovereignty to the crown.

2) It confirmed the chief’s ownership of his land and provided selling rights.

3) Maori were to have the same laws and privileges as British citizens. Nothing more, nothing less.

Such understandings have proved wrong. Legal beagles using their superior 500 guineas an hour comprehension skills, combined with high-powered legal goggles reading the fine print between the lines, have been able to fully understand the intention of both Maori and the Crown in 1840 – thus ascertaining the Treaty is a very complex partnership agreement. Extensive use of an ouija board has confirmed and fleshed this out.

Once elected, a Labour/Green coalition plans to get ‘partnership’ underway promptly, starting with universities.

This was sparked by an independent review of Waikato University that found that it was structurally discriminatory against Maori due to its western traditions

According to a section of the report authored by The Minister of Education Chris Hipkins, 50% of all professors, lecturers and students will be Maori by 2020.

Students will need to be welcomed onto the campus each day by a powhiri.

All university staff will need to be proficient in both English and Maori. However, concern was expressed about the proficiency in English of the upcoming and younger staff – particularly among Pakeha – with the thought that English as a language may have to be re-introduced as a subject in schools.

Mortar boards and gowns will be replaced with feather cloaks and top knots, while degrees will still be awarded on a scroll.

All staff at professor level will need to have full moko. Also, mana and whakapapa will have equal standing with scholarship to achieve the position of Professor.

Further in the document, an intriguing interpretation of the Treaty noted by the Minister of Justice Andrew Little says that partnership works both ways.

He states that half of all Kaumatua/Kuia and Tohunga will have to be Pakeha.

Rampant systemic, unconscious bias, structural and casual racism has kept Pakeha out of these positions.

Also sensationally he has decided, a Maori king along with courtiers, is a blatant cultural appropriation – it will need to change to a turn-about with Pakeha – a 50/50 split. A search is underway for a suitable dynasty amongst the nation’s truck drivers.
