It’s now official: Christopher Luxon has the political nous of a bedbug. Making membership of the Paris Accord non-negotiable in post-election talks can only be regarded by those on the right as traitorous behaviour of the worst kind. What leader of the right, in their right mind, goes trampling all over their party base and those of their coalition partners? This is nothing short of mindless stupidity.
This is the prime minister giving us the proof (as if we needed it) that he has hitched himself firmly to the globalist agenda that commentators, with more intelligence and knowledge than he has, are dismissing as a thing of the past. The Paris Accord is a means to try and compel countries to join in the left-wing climate change farce: setting unrealistic targets that have no hope of being met. Luxon intends getting into bed with the likes of Chlöe Swarbrick (figuratively speaking). Donald Trump would reel at the prospect.
Luxon compounds his nonsense by saying, “I’m going to do everything we can to hit that target.” He might like to explain who exactly the ‘we’ are, because it certainly isn’t his or his coalition partners’ voter base. As I pointed out in an earlier post: it’s all about him. A basic tenet of politics is that politicians are there to serve those who voted for them – they are not there to impose their beliefs, ideologies or personal desires on the voters. Very few, if any, voted National into office on the basis of staying in the Paris Accord. The hard truth is WE WANT OUT. It is not for the prime minister to determine otherwise.
There must be some conservative MPs left in the National Party. At the last leadership vote, whoever you are, if you didn’t vote to have this man removed as leader then here is my opinion – you are gutless. At the last election we did not vote for Ardern dressed in a suit. We did not vote for a continuation of Māori separatist rights. We did not vote for street names or school signs where Māori language takes precedence. We did not vote for a continuation of the Aotearoa nonsense nor any other form of Māori rights wedged into legislation. This form of absurdity is getting completely out of control after he said he’d fix it.
Who agrees that a top real estate agent should lose her license because she refused to attend a course on the gobbledygook of the Treaty of Waitangi imposed by the woke lot that comprise the Real Estate Institute? They should not have the right to do this. It is an outrage! The majority of the people don’t want this and that includes Māori. Give me one reason why the Treaty has anything to do with selling houses. There are none! Where is Luxon on this? Crickets. It wouldn’t surprise me if he supports it.
There has been much talk on Backchat about a grand coalition. I didn’t believe it but now I’m not so sure – although I still think it is a nightmare that won’t eventuate. We are getting closer to it, though, I must admit.
Splitting your vote is no longer an option: it is a necessity. A large group of ACT and NZ First MPs is an absolute must if we are going to stop the rot that is being imposed upon us. The liberal roosters are in charge of the hen house (National). If this election is lost, National will be to blame and that blame will rest solely with one man – Christopher Luxon.
Luxon, through his ideologies, has dug a hole for himself, his party, his coalition partners and the wider electorate on the right. I implore David Seymour and Winston Peters to call a crisis meeting with Luxon to educate him in the art of politics and how to win an election. He won last time because voters weren’t aware they were voting for Ardern in drag. We subsequently have discovered the truth of the matter. Going down the track he is on risks disaster on 7 November.
On the Paris Accord, let’s assume for a moment we meet the idiotic targets. What then? If we do manage the unthinkable, not a single other person on God’s earth will notice. Why? Because China, Russia and India (and the US) are going full bore on fossil fuels, digging and opening coal mines on a weekly basis, while some deluded little man at the bottom of the world is going full bore in the opposite direction. To what end? This is the downright stupidity of it. In reality it’s nothing more than a game invented by the left who have convinced themselves if we don’t do this, the end of the world is nigh.
A cleaner greener future might be desirable but, as Shane Jones says, it’s not an overnight fix. He’s not far off the mark when he declares fossil fuels will be needed for another 50 years and maybe more. Luxon has been sucked into the climate change hyperbole that, for a small country like ours dealing to a large degree in agriculture products to ensure our wealth, could likely lead to an even bigger economic crisis than we already have.
All of this makes this election vital to the country’s future. Seymour and Peters reflect the views of the electorate on the right far more than Luxon does. Therefore, to make sure a right-wing government is elected in November, it is imperative we have a strong ACT party and a strong NZ First party. This is vital when it comes to post election negotiations. This is where your party vote must go. Luxon has proven untrustworthy when comparing what he says and what he actually does. If this causes National to get a drubbing then the blame rests solely with him and his fellow liberals. It would be a lesson they need to learn. Please, please, please, party vote ACT or NZ First.
