As the protest in Wellington stretches to its 12th day, numbers on the grounds of parliament are increasing every day, and there were calls today for the Resignation of the Government and New Elections.

Taking centre stage this afternoon on behalf of the Freedoms and Rights Coalition is Brian Tamaki’s daughter Jamie Warren.  Jamie is best known for her work as the International Director of the Community Organisation Legacy (for women) alongside her husband, Caine Warren, ManUP.

Jamie’s message brought strong and decisive leadership to the protestors, and to all concerned New Zealanders.  It focused on the outcry of the people offering a clear pathway forward for New Zealanders determined for political change.  She delivered a message that was vibrant, clear and had direction.  The main points were;

  • End the Mandates 1st March 2022
  • A call for negotiation 10am 1st March with the Government on behalf of the protestors and the 40% of New Zealanders who support them who also want change
  • Following that, a clear end date to the Covid 19 Health Response Acts and all its Amendments
  • Finally jobs reinstated to those affected by the Mandates, with the back pay of wages lost as a result of the mandates

Jamie went on to say this Government are completely out of touch with the mood of the country and the heart of the people, and that they have misread the determination of the people to have their freedoms and rights restored NOW.  “The mandates, restrictions and over-arching legislation is killing our country and its potential and they must go”, she said.  She went on to say the people are now taking the power back and if this Government do not revoke the mandates, then she called for the resignation of the Prime Minister and New Elections to be called.

This has now gone beyond an arm wrestle to have the mandates removed, as the next chapter in this epic struggle for political change and the fight to get our country back, has just begun said Jamie Warren.

As Jamie finished she was met with rousing haka of 500 men giving respect and honour to this mana wahine.
