Today is the 21st anniversary of the horrific event at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and other locations.

Around 3,000 people died and more than 400 police officers and firefighters were killed. Reports suggest 25,000 were injured.

The news broke after midnight on 12th September in New Zealand, with an initial report of a plane hitting one of the Twin Towers.

The scenes we witnessed the next morning – including raw footage – were horrific.
