US President Donald Trump says an agreement to end Israel’s war in Gaza is “very close”, after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was seen handing him a note during an event with conservative influencers at the White House.
Trump was taking questions on Wednesday (local time) when Rubio entered and handed him the note.
“I was just given a note by the secretary of state saying that we’re very close to a deal in the Middle East, and they’re going to need me pretty quickly,” Trump said.
A photograph of the note showed that it read: “We need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.”
